Project History
This project started out in March 2005 as an extension for Struts Framework, called Struts Dialogs. Later that year Struts Dialogs joined Struts Applications effort on SourceForge.net. Struts Dialogs became popular among developers who wanted to use event-driven paradigm in Struts-based web applications. Later versions of Struts Dialogs attempted to devise a way of building portlet-like Struts components. The outcome was viable but cumbersome to use, and was not compatible with popular Tomcat servlet container without a patch.
The JSP Controls Tag Library presented on this site is the full rework of Struts Dialogs both in paradigm as well as in platform. During the process of transformation the codebase broke ties with Struts and the components received dual-mode (Ajax and non-Ajax) capabilities. If you are using JSP technology as a mainstay for your web presentation, you will be pleased by the features this library provides.
